My Story by Sean Mahoney

It was 10 years ago, when I first heard AFI. My local rock station
played Totalimmortal, and I loved it, but I forgot about it, and moved
on. A year later, the same station played Days Of The Phoenix, and that
night, I went out, and bought Art of Drowning. From that night, no band
has had my love more than AFI.

When I was a junior in high school, a new girl came tomy school that
I met through a mutual friend. She was a freshman, and she was wearing
an AFI shirt. My first words to her? “Hey, can I steal your shirt?”.
Now, almost 6 years later, we’re engaged. If it wasn’t for AFI, I’d have
not had the courage to talk to her, and I doubt we’d be who we are
today.

AFI has saved my life, and seen me through some of the roughest
things I’ve ever gone through. For 10 years, they’ve been my lifeline,
and my salvation.
